We'll find out more about Tony Almeida's real motives in a few minutes!

Well, Jack captured Almeida and will soon interrogate him. The question is, is Tony just out for revenge because of his wife's brutal death, or is there an underlying motive to Tony's involvement with a terrorist group that is connected with General Juma?

More answers should be revealed with tonight's double-episode - beginning at 8 P.M. EST on Fox!

The Night We've Been Waiting For Is Finally Here!

Well, after 1.5 years of waiting (after Season 6 ended), the new season of 24 is about to begin in just over an hour.

If you were watching Fox's broadcast of the Eagles-Giants football game earlier this afternoon, you seen a preview of tonight's episode where Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) discovers that Tony Almeida (played by Carlos Bernard) is still alive. They're together on a ship, with Bauer and Almeida battling it out, while Bauer grapples with the shock of Almeida still being alive (he nearly was killed in Season 5 in that car explosion that killed his wife, Michelle Dessler, played by Reiko Aylesworth, then presumably did die when that old accomplice of Jack's (and the one who blew up the car) stabbed Almeida with something when Almeida confronted him inside CTU out of a sense of revenge).

It should be an exciting season of 24, and it begins tonight at 8 P.M. EST. Recall also that 24 is on again for 2 hours tomorrow night before it inherits its regular time slot of 9 P.M. EST next Monday night.

Enjoy the show everyone!

For those who haven't followed 24 from the very beginning, check out the following season sets of 24 to know the entire storyline of Jack Bauer:

"24: Redemption" is now out on DVD!

Today, "24: Redemption" is out on DVD. Inside, not only will you get the 88-minute prequel to Season 7, but you'll also get (according to Amazon.com):

• Extended Edition "Creator’s Cut" featuring over ten minutes of never-before-seen footage (not shown in the television broadcast version)
• Behind-the-scenes "Making Of" documentary
• Children of War featurette
• Cast / Crew Commentary
• "24" Season 6 in Four Minutes featurette
• Season 7 Sneak Peek – First 16 minutes of the premiere episode

That last feature should be intriguing for those waiting for Season 7 to begin, as that won't be until Sunday, January 11, 2009. At the end of the "24: Redemption" television broadcast, they did show a few scenes from Season 7, but not nearly as much coverage. One thing I can tell you is that an old friend of Jack's who used to work at CTU (Counter-Terrorism Unit) and was even the head of CTU for a time returns after being thought of as dead for the past 1.5 years (since about halfway through Season 5). Except, from the previews, he seems to be the enemy, enough so where Jack throws him up against the wall and tells him (may not be exact words, but is pretty close if they're not exact), "You better be telling me the truth or I'll make sure you stay dead this time."

24: Redemption could make a great Christmas gift for someone you know. Or, perhaps, even buying the whole 6-season DVD package for a 24 fan or someone who has heard much about the show and enjoys good, quality television, but hasn't had time to get into the series, would make a great Christmas gift as well.

"24: Redemption" - that's quality "24" television! :-)

"24 Redemption" certainly provided quality excitement in the "24" tradition for 2 hours, a nice resumption into the series that had been gone for 17 months.

I don't want to reveal too much because I know there are many around the world who have not seen it yet (UK fans can see it later tonight, while Australian fans won't see it until next week), but here are some elements that were in "24 Redemption":

- A lot of action, including guns ablazing throughout a good deal of the program.
- Jack being heroic, as usual. This includes his being tortured and essentially "sacrificing" himself (I'm referring to the final few minutes of "Redemption").
- Someone dying in the cause Jack is fighting for.
- Intrigue on the political front, from several different angles (involving former President Noah Daniels, new President Allison Taylor, and the mysterious Jonas Hodges).

I certainly found it to be a worthwhile beginning to a promising Season 7 of 24, which begins Sunday, January 11, 2009 on Fox. I can hardly wait for Season 7 to officially begin!

24 Returns Tonight with "Redemption"!

The night 24 fans have been waiting for for around 17 months since Season 7 ended - "24: Redemption" comes on at 8 P.M. EST on Fox. UK and Australian fans will have to wait a bit longer - UK fans can see "Redemption on Monday, November 24 on Sky1, while Australian fans can see "Redemption" during the week of November 30 on Seven.

This 2-hour special event finds Jack Bauer (played by Kiefer Sutherland) in Africa trying to prevent a genocide from occurring. Meanwhile, back in the United States, the first female president, Allison Taylor (played by Tony-Award-winning actress Cherry Jones) is being prepared for office by outgoing President Noah Daniels (played by actor Powers Boothe, who was seen in Season 6).

Much of "Redemption" was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, with the final scenes being filmed in Los Angeles, California.

Other notable stars in "Redemption" include (information coming from Wikipedia):

Gil Bellows - playing Frank Tramell, a State Department official who is ordered to subpoena Bauer to testify in front of the U.S. Senate.
Robert Carlyle - playing Carl Benton, an old friend of Bauer's, who is running a school to rescue child soliders who are recruited into the military.
Peter MacNicol - playing Tom Lennox, who was also seen in Season 6.
Tony Todd - playing General Benjamin Juma, an African dictator who is responsible for the genocide being committed in "Sangala," the name of the fictitious African nation where the story of "Redemption" takes place.
Jon Voight - playing Jonas Hodges, a serious villian who is involved in an organization similar to Blackwater Worldwide.

Many of these stars will also be seen throughout Season 7, which begins Sunday, January 11, 2009.

"Redemption" will be available in an extended director's cut on DVD on Tuesday, November 25.
